Welcome to my Blog... a sort of chronological scrapbook of my work
As a traditionally trained 2d animator I have developed a strong understanding of principles key to the art form. I have been able to apply this knowledge to become competent in many different mediums’ from 3d CGI to stop motion.
Below is a collection of work
Sony Smartwatch 2 official web and instore video
My latest creation I have made at Adcontent for Sony
Recent product videos I have made at Adcontent
A new era.....Since starting work in my new job at AdContent I have had little chance to update my blog.... I've been too busy creating tasty eye candy!

Wizard of oz animated tornado sequences
wizzardofoz.h264 from ryan herbert on Vimeo.
A little animated sequence I've created for a friend who is head of drama at Wildern school. The school is running a stage performance of the Wizard of Oz. The animation will be projected on a screen during the performance allowing time for a set change and transformation to Munchkin Land. I produced, animated, edited and done all the sound design myself. Might do a second less trippy edit tomorrow though :-) EnjoyThe Digital World VFX
I produced all of the VFX on this project working for brighton based production Company Larchmont films.

SFx for Inbred
Back in the summer of 2011 a good friend Alex Chandon finished shooting Inbred in the Yorkshire dales. Pew36 then took on the job to produce the Sfx. I worked on various grusome shots from exploding people to generating and compositing 3d smoke. Here is the official trailer. I feel it is an accurate representation of people who live in Yorkshire

The Scouts game app trailer
Really fun project to work on. I was responsible for designing and building many of the assets including the character and environments. I also produced some of the effects animation, such as the fire. The project took about a week to turn around. sadly I did not meet Bear Grylls to tell him Ray Mears would probably beat him in a fight.

Vetrix - Lights Blinking
Realy like this video we produced at Pew36! It has a relaxing quality to both the song and the style of animation which compliment each other seemlessly. My main role in this video was to use 3dsmax and a plugin called Rayfire to crumble and explode objects!
Mixtape by Muddyloop
Muddyloop feat. Ambrosius - Mixtape from Jordan Wood on Vimeo.
Ths might be one of my favorite videos we've produced at Pew36. Its mental to compare this video to Kanye West "Heartless" as it probably didn't even have 1% of their budget and only a hand full of artist produced it!
After I taught the artist Marvin Ambrosius A few dance moves we filmed him and Model Kerry in front of a green screen! What followed was hours upon hours of a technique called rotoscoping, useing solid colours to mask over the footage accordingly!
Sunset timelapse
Last night I went for a drive not looking to shoot anything spacific. Moments before the sunset I came across the enterance to this field. I liked the reflection so quickly set my camera up and shot at 5 second intervals to produce this timelapse!
Stop Motion Bicycle
Barries Bikes! A little stop motion fun I had with a toy bike from my Aunty Bo's Husbands collection! The bikes are beautifuly made so a had to have a play, the camera work is terrible however but it was just a bit of fun with animating straight ahead nothing planned!
Scarlette Fever-Black and White
This is the 2nd video I have worked on for Scarlette Fever, this time I was an assistant director to my good friend Matt Campbell!
X-Force: The Enemy Within
This is a two part animated short we done for ibm in early 2010. This was my first proper stopmotion animation I worked on and it was most enjoyable :)
And Part 2
And Part 2
Everything everything - Final Form
We were originally charged with created as much content as we could on the theme of cells and microscopic stuff so that the editor could cherry pick stuff to compliment the live action content. This video is all the crap that did not make the cut. This is not the official video but that can be found here

Thomas Tantrum - Sleep
If you're susceptible to puking on fairground rides you might want to look away :).
This is a video we produced at Pew36 and was directed by the mighty Mr Adam Comiskey. We made this in just 4 weeks from shooting the green screen footage of the band to creating a fully functional 3d fairground. Enjoy

The Last Dragonslayer App
Some nice 2d animation we produced at pew36 for asylum films back in December 2010.
Lovehead - Sexy Disco
Just a quicky we produced at Pew, only a four day turn around for this one. Pretty satisfying overall.

Lost Souls Club - Leave The Light On
Another live action/animation music video we produced at Pew36 for a cool local band "The Lost Souls Club". Had a lot of fun making this...Trespassing a farmers corn field and some derelict buildings is always a good laugh! Not to mention a bit of pyrotechnics, a smoke machine, set designs, maggots and tracking mangled CGI arms onto a fellow aniamtor!
The Lost Souls Club - Leave The Light On from Jordan Wood on Vimeo.
Harry Hill - Flatscreen TV
Pew36 were commissioned to create a music video for Comedian Harry Hill. The concept for this was the brain child of Director Adam Comiskey. We took just 5 days to finish the video. Using our beautiful faces lip syncing the lyrics, we combined the footage with our fingers and adjusted it in various ways according to the song! Highlight for me was I got to pull Jordan's sock off!
Haye v Harrison - Battersea Park Power Station projection
At Pew We produced a series of animated sequence to promote the Haye vs Harrison Fight. Me and Adam went to Sky sports news center to shot green screen footage of the two boxers in a studio which Haye requested to be a stupidly hot 42 degree... Pansy! The final sequences were projected across the Thames onto Battersea Power station!!!! That must take one big arse projector!!
We began the project on the monday and watched it on sky on the Friday
Everything Everything - Photoshop Handsome
I worked on this as an animator alongside about 12 others. The green screen footage was cut up into short clips and then distributed. We were then pretty much given free rein to do what we liked with the band and their environment.
Scarlette Fever - Crash & Burn
First live action shoot!!!This Video was Co-directed by myself and Dan Tyler. We come up with the simple concept of getting the public to reveal their fear to a camera. We used the song lyrics “when was the last time you did something for the first time” as our ethos in hope of attracting a diverse mix of people. We shot all the footage including Scarlette Fevers performance in one day in a park in Southampton. We received an overwhelming response from the public and despite having all the elements against us we managed produce a finished product both us and the record label were very pleased with.

Aviva - Internet Advert
The advert was co-directed by myself and Jack Bonnington and Produced by Asylum Films. We animated the whole advert in one day in a very Hot Pew36 studio. Things got a bit sticky which made it a nightmare to keep the plasticine colours separate. The advert featured on MSN and AOL home page.
